Islam forbids homosexuality – those who say it is permitted are pure satanic kafirs

Islam & Muslims are very proudly NOT gay-friendly

As-Salamu ‘Alaikum

This is a rather lengthy post. So I will present a summary case here.

1 – Anyone who considers homosexuality as allowed in Islam, he/she is a kafir. Period. Those who preach for gay marriages to be acceptable or propose ‘Islamic’ ceremonies for them are not just apostates but rather satanists who are Allah’s enemies.

2 – Translation of meaning and tafaasiir of some verses of the Quran and ahaadiith which show emphatically:

– Homosexuality is forbidden in Islam. Explicit texts showing that both male and female homosexuality is forbidden.

– Allah’s wrath and ‘adhab descending upon homosexuals in nations past. Two major examples being the people of Luut, ‘alaihis salam, in Sodom and the ‘people of the well’.

– The Prophet cursed severely the homosexuals.

– The punishment for homosexuality in different madhhabs, and in front of the sahaba. It is the death penalty with differing opinions on how the death is to be administered.

– Sodomy is forbidden even with women.

3 – Guidelines for Muslims on how to deal with gays and lesbians in the times and places we live in, most of which do not implement Islamic law.


1 – Whoever believes a haram qat’iy (a haram that is known to be haram by explicit primary texts) to be permitted in Islam is a kafir.

This rule is common to all four madhhabs of the Ahlus Sunnah.

Imam Ibn Hajar Al-Haytami says in his book detailing what keeps one Muslim and what takes one outside of Islam, Al-I’ilam bi-Qawati’il Islam, regarding homosexuality, twice:

و من ذلك ان يستحل محرما بالاجماع كالخمر و اللواط ولو في مملوكه

And from this [that is, apostasies] is that one makes halal, those prohibitions on which there is consensus (ijma’), like alcohol, or homosexuality, even if it is in his possession*.

* – that is, one cannot say, ‘I am the owner so this is halal on me’.

On another page of the same book, he says:

او قال: يجوز لي الحرام, او قال: ليت الزنا او اللواط او الظلم حلال او دفغ لفقير حراما من مال مسلم او ذمي و هو يعلمه و رجا ثوابه او دعاء الفقير

Or if one says: “The haram is permitted on me”; or if one says: “I wish* that zina (adultery) or liwaat (homosexuality) or zdhulm (transgression) was halal!”; or if one gave a pauper from illegitimately (haram) acquired wealth [stolen or otherwise] of a Muslim or a dhimmi, and he knew it [to be illegitimately acquired] and he hopes for thawab from this [act] or the du’a of the pauper [to be accepted in his favor].

[Al-I’ilam bi Qawati’il Islam – Ibn Hajar Al-Haytami]

* – or saying: it would be great if / if only / any other phrase expressing desire and wish

Fatawa Hindiyyah, a reliable work of jurisprudence in the Hanafi madhhab says:

من اعتقد الحرام حلالا اوعلی القلب یکفر

الفتاوى الهندية

The one who holds a belief on making the haram as halal and vice versa [making the halal as haram], he is a kafir. [Al-Fatawa Al-Hindiyyah]

Imam ibn Hajar Al-Haytami says twice in his celebrated work that anyone who believes – that something that is agreed upon as haram by the consensus of Muslim scholars, due to explicit primary texts forbidding them – like homosexuality –is allowed in Islam – or even wishes that it were allowed – such a person is kafir.

This means that EVEN STRAIGHT people who BELIEVE / ALLEGE that homosexuality is allowed in Islam or believe that gay marriages should be accepted in Islam – they too are KAFIRS.

Those satanists who insult the laws of Allah and make a mockery of them by suggesting that gay marriages are allowed / should be acceptable in Islam, are only further filthier kafirs!

There is no difference of opinion on this issue that homosexuality is forbidden in Islam.


2. Translation of meanings and tafaasiir of some verses of the Quran, and some ahaadiith:

2.1 – Regarding the people of Prophet Luut, ‘alaihis salam; and sodomites

Surah A’araaf (7)

وَلُوطًا إِذْ قَالَ لِقَوْمِهِ أَتَأْتُونَ الْفَاحِشَةَ مَا سَبَقَكُم بِهَا مِنْ أَحَدٍ مِّنَ الْعَالَمِينَ

80. And Luut was sent, and [then] he told his people ‘Do you commit the lewdness that no one in the world committed before you?’

إِنَّكُمْ لَتَأْتُونَ الرِّجَالَ شَهْوَةً مِّن دُونِ النِّسَاءِ ۚ بَلْ أَنتُمْ قَوْمٌ مُّسْرِفُونَ

81. Then you approach men with lust, leaving women; in fact, you have exceeded the bounds!

وَمَا كَانَ جَوَابَ قَوْمِهِ إِلَّا أَن قَالُوا أَخْرِجُوهُم مِّن قَرْيَتِكُمْ ۖ إِنَّهُمْ أُنَاسٌ يَتَطَهَّرُونَ

82. And his people had no answer other than, ‘remove them (Luut and those who followed him) from your town as they desire purity!’

فَأَنجَيْنَاهُ وَأَهْلَهُ إِلَّا امْرَأَتَهُ كَانَتْ مِنَ الْغَابِرِينَ

83. Then we granted him and his family respite [from these evildoers], except for his wife; she was of those who were left (not granted respite).

وَأَمْطَرْنَا عَلَيْهِم مَّطَرًا ۖ فَانظُرْ كَيْفَ كَانَ عَاقِبَةُ الْمُجْرِمِينَ

84. And We rained upon them a flurry, then see what was the recompense of the criminals!

Surah Huud (11)

وَلَمَّا جَاءَتْ رُسُلُنَا لُوطًا سِيءَ بِهِمْ وَضَاقَ بِهِمْ ذَرْعًا وَقَالَ هَٰذَا يَوْمٌ عَصِيبٌ

77. And when our angels came to Luut, he feared for them and was anxious for them and said, ‘this is a day of great hardship’.

وَجَاءَهُ قَوْمُهُ يُهْرَعُونَ إِلَيْهِ وَمِن قَبْلُ كَانُوا يَعْمَلُونَ السَّيِّئَاتِ ۚ قَالَ يَا قَوْمِ هَٰؤُلَاءِ بَنَاتِي هُنَّ أَطْهَرُ لَكُمْ ۖ فَاتَّقُوا اللَّهَ وَلَا تُخْزُونِ فِي ضَيْفِي ۖ أَلَيْسَ مِنكُمْ رَجُلٌ رَّشِيدٌ

78. And his people came running to him, and they were addicted to lewdness from before, he said, ‘o people, these are the daughters of my nation, they are purer for you, then fear Allah and do not humiliate me in front of my guests, isn’t there even one decent man amongst you?’

قَالُوا لَقَدْ عَلِمْتَ مَا لَنَا فِي بَنَاتِكَ مِنْ حَقٍّ وَإِنَّكَ لَتَعْلَمُ مَا نُرِيدُ

79. They said, ‘you know we have nothing to do with the daughters of your nation, and indeed you know what we desire.’

قَالَ لَوْ أَنَّ لِي بِكُمْ قُوَّةً أَوْ آوِي إِلَىٰ رُكْنٍ شَدِيدٍ

80. He said, ‘Alas! If I had power against you or if I could hold on to a strong pillar!’

قَالُوا يَا لُوطُ إِنَّا رُسُلُ رَبِّكَ لَن يَصِلُوا إِلَيْكَ ۖ فَأَسْرِ بِأَهْلِكَ بِقِطْعٍ مِّنَ اللَّيْلِ وَلَا يَلْتَفِتْ مِنكُمْ أَحَدٌ إِلَّا امْرَأَتَكَ ۖ إِنَّهُ مُصِيبُهَا مَا أَصَابَهُمْ ۚ إِنَّ مَوْعِدَهُمُ الصُّبْحُ ۚ أَلَيْسَ الصُّبْحُ بِقَرِيبٍ

81. They [the angels] said, ‘O Luut, we are sent by your Lord, they can’t reach you , then take your family away in a part of the night and none of you shall turn back and look; except your woman, what is to befall them is to befall her too’; indeed their promise was for the morning; isn’t the morning near?

فَلَمَّا جَاءَ أَمْرُنَا جَعَلْنَا عَالِيَهَا سَافِلَهَا وَأَمْطَرْنَا عَلَيْهَا حِجَارَةً مِّن سِجِّيلٍ مَّنضُودٍ

82. Then when Our command arrived, We rendered the top of the habitation as its bottom, and rained onto it stones of hardened clay continuously.

مُّسَوَّمَةً عِندَ رَبِّكَ ۖ وَمَا هِيَ مِنَ الظَّالِمِينَ بِبَعِيدٍ

83. Those which are marked in front of your Lord, and those [stones] are not far from the transgressors.

Imam Al-Qurtubi’s Jami’ Al-Ahkam Al-Quran says regarding verse 7:80

<قوله تعالى <ولوطا إذ قال لقومه أتأتون الفاحشة ما سبقكم بها من أحد من العالمين

The Almighty’s saying: And Luut was sent, and [then] he told his people ‘Do you commit the lewdness that no one in the world committed before you?’ [7:80]

فيه أربع مسائل :

الأولى : قوله تعالى <ولوطا إذ قال لقومه> قال الفراء : لوط مشتق من قولهم : هذا أليط بقلبي ، أي ألصق . وقال النحاس : قال الزجاج زعم بعض النحويين – يعني الفراء – أن لوطا يجوز أن يكون مشتقا من لطت الحوض إذا ملسته بالطين . قال : وهذا غلط ; لأن الأسماء الأعجمية لا تشتق كإسحاق ، فلا يقال : إنه من السحق وهو البعد . وإنما صرف لوط لخفته لأنه على ثلاثة أحرف وهو ساكن الوسط . قال النقاش : لوط من الأسماء الأعجمية وليس من العربية . فأما لطت الحوض ، وهذا أليط بقلبي من هذا ، فصحيح . ولكن الاسم أعجمي كإبراهيم وإسحاق . قال سيبويه : نوح ولوط أسماء أعجمية ، إلا أنها خفيفة فلذلك صرفت .

<بعثه الله تعالى إلى أمة تسمى سدوم ، وكان ابن أخي إبراهيم . ونصبه إما ب <أرسلنا المتقدمة فيكون معطوفا . ويجوز أن يكون منصوبا بمعنى واذكر .

There are 4 matters pertaining to it:

The First Case: On The Almighty’s saying {And Luut said to his people}: Al-Ferraa said: “Luut” is derived from [the implications of], “This is more “aleet” (desirable/dearer) to my heart.” [In the meaning of] ‘emphasized’.

And Nahhaas said: Az-Zajjaj said that some experts of grammar – [refering to Al-Ferraa] – maintain that it is possible that “Luut” is derived from [the implications of] ‘plastering with clay’. He said: and this is wrong, because the non-Arab  names, like “Is-haaq” are not derived from [from Arabic root words]. For instance, it won’t be said: It [i.e., Is-haaq] is from “suhq” meaning ‘distance’. And the morphology of “Luut” is due to its lightness because it is three letters and the middle letter is saakin (vowelless).

An-Naqqaash said: Luut is from ‘Ajam (non-Arab) names and is not Arab. Even though [the implications of] ‘plastered the pool [with clay]’ and ‘this is more desirable/dearer to my heart’ are right, the name is nonetheless ‘Ajami, like Ibrahiim and Is-haaq.

Sibawayh said: Nuuh and Luut are ‘Ajami (non-Arab) names. Except that they are morphed thusly due to their lightness.

Allah sent him to a people called “Sodum” (Sodom), and he [our master Luut] was the son of Ibrahim’s brother. And its [grammatical] placement [in the verse] is attributed/conjoined to the {We sent} that preceded [in verse 59, and in this case the “We sent” would be attributed to Luut ‘alaihis salam]. And it is also possible that it is attributed to the meaning of “and remember”.

 الثانية قوله تعالى <أتأتون الفاحشة> يعني إتيان الذكور . ذكرها الله باسم الفاحشة ليبين أنها زنى ; كما قال الله تعالى : <ولا تقربوا الزنى إنه كان فاحشة

واختلف العلماء فيما يجب على من فعل ذلك بعد إجماعهم على تحريمه ; فقال مالك : يرجم ; أحصن أو لم يحصن . وكذلك يرجم المفعول به إن كان محتلما . وروي عنه أيضا : يرجم إن كان محصنا ، ويحبس ويؤدب إن كان غير محصن . وهو مذهب عطاء والنخعي وابن المسيب وغيرهم . وقال أبو حنيفة : يعذر المحصن وغيره ; وروي عن مالك . وقال الشافعي : يحد حد الزنى قياسا عليه . احتج مالك بقوله تعالى : <وأمطرنا عليهم حجارة من سجيل> . فكان ذلك عقوبة لهم وجزاء على فعلهم . فإن قيل : لا حجة فيها لوجهين ; أحدهما : أن قوم لوط إنما عوقبوا على الكفر والتكذيب كسائر الأمم . الثاني : أن صغيرهم وكبيرهم دخل فيها ; فدل على خروجها من باب الحدود . قيل : أما الأول فغلط ; فإن الله سبحانه أخبر عنهم أنهم كانوا على معاص فأخذهم بها ; منها هذه . وأما الثاني فكان منهم فاعل وكان منهم راض ، فعوقب الجميع لسكوت الجماهير عليه . وهي حكمة الله وسنته في عباده . وبقي أمر العقوبة على الفاعلين مستمرا . والله أعلم . وقد روى أبو داود وابن ماجه والترمذي والنسائي والدارقطني أن رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم قال : من وجدتموه يعمل عمل قوم لوط فاقتلوا الفاعل والمفعول به . لفظ أبي داود وابن ماجه . وعند الترمذي أحصنا أو لم يحصنا . وروى أبو داود والدارقطني عن ابن عباس في البكر يوجد على اللوطية قال : يرجم . وقد روي عن أبي بكر الصديق رضي الله عنه أنه حرق رجلا يسمى الفجاءة حين عمل عمل قوم لوط بالنار . وهو رأي علي بن أبي طالب ; فإنه لما كتب خالد بن الوليد إلى أبي بكر في ذلك جمع أبو بكر أصحاب النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم واستشارهم فيه ; فقال علي : إن هذا الذنب لم تعص به أمة من الأمم إلا أمة واحدة صنع الله بها ما علمتم ، أرى أن يحرق بالنار . فاجتمع رأي أصحاب رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم أن يحرق بالنار . فكتب أبو بكر إلى خالد بن الوليد أن يحرقه بالنار فأحرقه . ثم أحرقهم ابن الزبير في زمانه . ثم أحرقهم هشام بن الوليد . ثم أحرقهم خالد القسري بالعراق . وروي أن سبعة أخذوا في زمن ابن الزبير في لواط ; فسأل عنهم فوجد أربعة قد أحصنوا فأمر بهم فخرجوا بهم من الحرم فرجموا بالحجارة حتى ماتوا ، وحد الثلاثة ; وعنده ابن عباس وابن عمر فلم ينكرا عليه . وإلى هذا ذهب الشافعي . قال ابن العربي : والذي صار إليه مالك أحق ، فهو أصح سندا وأقوى معتمدا . وتعلق الحنفيون بأن قالوا : عقوبة الزنى معلومة ; فلما كانت هذه المعصية غيرها وجب ألا يشاركها في حدها . ويأثرون في هذا حديثا : من وضع حدا في غير حد فقد تعدى وظلم . وأيضا فإنه وطء في فرج لا يتعلق به إحلال ولا إحصان ، ولا وجوب مهر ولا ثبوت نسب ; فلم يتعلق به حد .

The Second Case: The Almighty’s saying {Do you commit lewdness?} referring to sexual intercourse with men. Allah Ta’ala called this deed “faahishah” (lewdness) to assert that this too is zina [and in fact, worse than it]; just as Allah said {And do not approach zina, indeed it is faahishah (lewdness) 17:32}. And the scholars are divided over what should be done with a person who has committed this act [that is, over the punishment to be meted out], after being unified on its impermissibility.

 Malik said: They must be stoned, whether they are married [to women] or not. Likewise, the one who asks the deed [of sodomy] to be performed on him, he must be stoned, if he is an adult. And it is also narrated: He shall be stoned, if he is married [to a woman], and he shall be imprisoned and rehabilitated if he is not married; and this is the madhhab of ‘Ataa and An-Nakha’iy, and Ibn al-Musayyab and others.

 Abu Hanifah said: Ta’zir (judiciary discretion) shall be applied, whether married or otherwise. This view is [also] narrated from Malik.

 Ash-Shafi’iy said that the punishment of adultery (zina) [which is stoning] will be applied on it [as it is] analogized to it.

Malik asserts that The Almighty’s saying {And We rained on them stones of sijjeel (heat-hardened clay) (15:74)} shows that this [i.e., stoning] is the recompense and punishment for their action.

 If it is said: Due to these two reasons, there is no evidence [for its punishment]: 1) The people of Luut were punished for the disbelief (kufr) and denial [as opposed to the act of sodomy], just like all the other nations [that were destroyed for their kufr]; 2) Their young and old alike were included [in this torment]; this is evidence that it [the punishment of stones raining] is out of the scope of capital punishments. It is replied: In regards to [objection] 1: It is false. Because Allah INFORMED them that they are [engorssed] in sinfulness and that they shall be punished for it. This [punishment] is from that. In regards to [objection] 2: There were those of them who were doing the [filthy] deed and those that were permitting it. And the punishment on all is due to the silence of all people on it. And this is the Wisdom and Sunnah of Allah [it means Allah’s Law] in regards to His slaves [to punish the entire nation if all people are silent & passive approvers of sins].

And this command of punishment [in this or similar form] of the perpetrators [of this filthy act] continues thusly [until forever]. And Allah knows best. And it is narrated from Abu Dawuud and Ibn Majah and At-Tirmidhi and An-Nasaiy and Dar Qutniy that Rasulullah said: ‘Who ever sees someone doing the deed of the people of Luut, kill the one who does it and the one on whom it is done.’ – in these words from Abu Dawuud and Ibn Majah. Tirmidhi’s narration [also contains the words] ‘whether he is married or unmarried.’ Abu Dawuud and Dar Qutniy narrated from Ibn ‘Abbas in regards to the unmarried person found committing the act of the people of Luut, he said: Stone him. And it is narrated that Abu Bakr As-Siddiq, radzi Allahu ‘anhu burned by fire, a person called al-fujaa-ah, who had committed the act committed by the people of Luut. And it is [also] the opinion of ‘Ali bin Abi Talib, because when Khalid bin Waleed wrote to Abu Bakr regarding this, Abu Bakr gathered the Prophet’s companions and consulted them on it. Then ‘Ali said: “This is indeed such a sin that no nation from various nations has been guilty of it, except one, [and] Allah did with them what you know. I opine that he be burned by fire.” The opinions of the companions of the Prophet then unified that he be burned by fire. Then Abu Bakr wrote to Khalid bin Waleed to burn him by fire, and he [Khalid bin Waleed] did burn him thusly.

 Thereafter, Ibn Zubayr burned them [gays] by fire in his time. Then Hisham bin Waleed too burned them. Later, Khalid Al-Qasriy too burned them in Iraq. And it has been narrated that seven people were arrested for sodomy in the times of Ibn Zubayr. They were investigated and four were found to be married and the verdict in regards to them was that they should be taken outside of the Haram precincts and stoned until death; and the capital punishment was applied on the remaining three. And on his side were Ibn ‘Abbas and Ibn ‘Umar and they did not oppose him in this. Ash-Shafi’iy is also going on this [opinion]. Ibn Al-‘Arabiy said: The opinion taken by Malik is more authentic, for it is more authentic by text and stronger by authority. As for the Hanafis, they say: The punishment for adultery (zina) is known. Then due to this sin being different than zina, the hadd (capital punishment) for zina should not be shared by it. And they narrate this hadith [in support for their stance]: “The one who implements hadd on [a crime] not necessitating hadd, he has exceeded [his bounds] and transgressed.” Additionally, it is an intercourse that [certainly] has no relation with halal or marriage, neither with the necessity of mahr or [requiring] proof [of establishing] parentage. Therefore, hadd (statutory capital punishment) is not connected to it [and it falls under ta’zir, that is, judge’s discretion to assign as harsh a punishment as needed for this filthy crime so that people learn their lesson.]

 الثالثة : فإن أتى بهيمة فقد قيل : لا يقتل هو ولا البهيمة . وقيل : يقتلان ; حكاه ابن المنذر عن أبي سلمة بن عبد الرحمن . وفي الباب حديث رواه أبو داود والدارقطني عن ابن عباس قال قال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم : من وقع على بهيمة فاقتلوه واقتلوا البهيمة معه . فقلنا لابن عباس : ما شأن البهيمة ؟ قال : ما أراه قال ذلك ، إلا أنه كره أن يؤكل لحمها وقد عمل بها ذلك العمل . قال ابن المنذر : إن يك الحديث ثابتا فالقول به يجب ، وإن لم يثبت فليستغفر الله من فعل ذلك كثيرا ، وإن عزره الحاكم كان حسنا . والله أعلم . وقد قيل : إن قتل البهيمة لئلا تلقي خلقا مشوها ; فيكون قتلها مصلحة لهذا المعنى مع ما جاء من السنة . والله أعلم . وقد روى أبو داود عن ابن عباس قال : ليس على الذي زنى بالبهيمة حد . قال أبو داود : وكذا قال عطاء . وقال الحكم : أرى أن يجلد ولا يبلغ به الحد . وقال الحسن : هو بمنزلة الزاني . وقال الزهري : يجلد مائة أحصن أو لم يحصن . وقال مالك والثوري وأحمد وأصحاب الرأي يعزر . وروي عن عطاء والنخعي والحكم . واختلفت الرواية عن الشافعي ، وهذا أشبه على مذهبه في هذا الباب . وقال جابر بن زيد : يقام عليه الحد ، إلا أن تكون البهيمة له .

The Third Case: If someone does it with an animal, it is said: Neither he will be killed, nor the animal. And it is [also] said: They will both be killed. Ibn Al-Mundhir has copied this from Abi Salamah ibn ‘Abdur Rahman. And  on this, there is the hadiith narrated by Abu Dawuud and Dar Qutniy on account of Ibn ‘Abbas that Rasulullah  said: “Whoever has sex with an animal, kill him, and kill the animal with him.” Then we said to Ibn ‘Abbas: What is the reason [to kill] the animal?” He said: “As I see it, it is due to the animals meat being deemed disliked [and undesired] for consumption after such a deed is performed on it.” Ibn Mundhir said: “If this hadiith is established [as authentic], then its saying will have to be followed. And if it [the hadiith] is not established, then the one who did this act needs to repent to Allah a lot.” And if the haakim (ruler) punishes him by ta’zir, it is better. And Allah knows best.

And it is also said: the killing of the animal is due to the fact that is has been deformed [and therefore unfit for people to use/consume]. Then this killing [of the animal] is for the sake of maslaha (public good) in this scenario, as has come from the Sunnah. And Allah knows best.

 And Abu Dawuud has narrated from Ibn ‘Abbas that he said: There is no hadd applied on the one who fornicates with an animal. Abu Dawuud said: And ‘Ataa said likewise. And Al-Hakam said: In my opinion, he should be lashed but not administered capital punishment. And Al-Hasan said: He [the one who had sex with an animal] is at the same status as an adulterer. And Az-Zuhri said: He should be lashed a 100 times, be he married or unmarried. And Malik, and Ath-Thawriy, and Ahmad and other ashab ar-raai (people of legal opinions) said that he is subject to ta’zir. And ‘Ataa and An-Nakha’iy and Al-Hakam narrated this [same opinion]. Different opinions come from Ash-Shafi’iy; and it is better [i.e., more applicable] in his madhhab in this scenario. And Jabir bin Zayd said: Hadd shall be applied on such a person; except in the case that he was the owner of the animal.

 الرابعة قوله تعالى <ما سبقكم بها من أحد من العالمين> – <من> لاستغراق الجنس ، أي لم يكن اللواط في أمة قبل قوم لوط . والملحدون يزعمون أن ذلك كان قبلهم . والصدق ما ورد به القرآن . وحكى النقاش أن إبليس كان أصل عملهم بأن دعاهم إلى نفسه لعنه الله ، فكان ينكح بعضهم بعضا . قال الحسن : كانوا يفعلون ذلك بالغرباء ، ولم يكن يفعله بعضهم ببعض . وروى ابن ماجه عن جابر بن عبد الله قال قال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم : إن أخوف ما أخاف على أمتي عمل قوم لوط . وقال محمد بن سيرين : ليس شيء من الدواب يعمل عمل قوم لوط إلا الخنزير والحمار .

The Fourth Case: The Almighty’s saying {No one in the world committed before you [this filthy act of sodomy] }. The [preposition] {from} is for inclusion of species [that is, the species of creation]; that is, before the people of Luut, sodomy was NEVER witnessed. The atheist [deniers of this] allege that it happened even before that, and the truth is what is stated in the Quran. And An-Naqqaash reports that ibliis, may Allah curse him, started this [filthy practice] by inviting them to do this act upon himself [by appearing to them in the shape of a beautiful young man]. Thencefore, they started doing it amongst themselves. And Ibn Majah narrates from Jabir ibn ‘Abd-Allah that he said, the Prophet said: “Indeed, of all that I fear for my ummah, I fear most the deed of the people of Luut”. And Muhammad ibn Siiriin said: From the beasts, there isn’t a single one that does the deed of the people of Luut, except the pig and the donkey!

 Tarikh Dimashq of Ibn ‘Asakir says:

عَنْ بَعْضِ رُوَاةِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ أَنَّهُ كَانَ يَقُولُ : ” إِنَّمَا كَانَ بَدْءُ عَمَلِ قَوْمِ لُوطٍ ، أَنَّ إِبْلِيسَ جَاءَهُمْ عِنْدَ ذِكْرِهِمْ مَا ذَكَرُوا فِي هَيْئَةِ صَبِيٍّ ، أَجْمَلِ صَبِيٍّ رَآهُ النَّاسُ ، فَدَعَاهُمْ إِلَى نَفْسِهِ فَنَكَحُوهُ ، ثُمَّ جَرَوْا عَلَى ذَلِكَ ، فَلَمْ يَتَنَاهَوْا وَلَمْ يَرُدَّهُمْ قَوْلُهُ ، وَلَمْ يَقْبَلُوا يَعْنِي قَوْمَ لُوطٍ لَمْ يَقْبَلُوا شَيْئًا مِمَّا عُرِضَ عَلَيْهِمْ مِنْ أَمْرِ بَنَاتِهِ ،

تاريخ دمشق لابن عساكر

Some narrators report from Ibn ‘Abbas that he used to say: “Indeed in regards to the one to start the practice of the people of Luut, it was ibliis who came to them in the form of a young lad, taught them what they knew, [as he appeared in the form of] the most beautiful lad among them, and he invited them to himself and they had sexual intercourse with him, and then they continued with this [act]. And then his [i.e., Luut’s, ‘alaihis salam] saying did not stop them or turn them back [from this act], and they did not accept [anything], that is, the people of Luut did not accept anything that was presented to them from the commands regarding his [nation’s] daughters [that is, they rejected to marry women instead of being gay, as commanded.]

Excerpt from the Tafsiir Ruuh Al-Ma’aniy of Imam Aalusi under the verse 7:80

 وجاء من رواية ابن أبي الدنيا عن طاوس أن قوم لوط إنما أتوا أولاً النساء في أدبارهن ثم أتوا الرجال

And it comes from a narration through Ibn Abi-d Duniya, through Tawuus that, at first the people of Luut had anal intercourse with women, and then [they moved on] to men.

Excerpt from the Tafseer of Imam Baghawiy on the verse 7:81

{7:81. Then you approach men with lust, leaving women; in fact, you have exceeded the bounds!}

وقال الكلبي : إن أول من عمل عمل قوم لوط إبليس ، لأن بلادهم أخصبت فانتجعها أهل البلدان ، أي : فتمثل لهم إبليس في صورة شاب ، ثم دعا إلى دبره ، فنكح في دبره ، فأمر الله تعالى السماء أن تحصبهم وأمر الأرض أن تخسف بهم .

And Al-Kalbi said: Indeed, the first one to commit the act of the people of Luut was ibliis, because their land was the most plush and fertile and he wanted to indulge its people; [detailed as], then ibliis appeared to them in the form of a lad and invited them to [have sex through] his anus, and he had sex [with them] through his anus. Then Allah commanded the sky to pelt stones on them and the earth to swallow them!

Imam Al-Qurtubi’s Jami’ Al-Ahkam Al-Quran on verse 7:84

قوله تعالى <وأمطرنا عليهم مطرا فانظر كيف كان عاقبة المجرمين> سرى لوط بأهله كما وصف الله <بقطع من الليل> ثم أمر جبريل عليه السلام فأدخل جناحه تحت مدائنهم فاقتلعها ورفعها حتى سمع أهل السماء صياح الديكة ونباح الكلاب ، ثم جعل عاليها سافلها ، وأمطرت عليهم حجارة من سجيل ، قيل : على من غاب منهم . وأدرك امرأة لوط ، وكانت معه حجر فقتلها . وكانت فيما ذكر أربع قرى . وقيل : خمس فيها أربعمائة ألف . وسيأتي في سورة ” هود ” قصة لوط بأبين من هذا ، إن شاء الله تعالى .

The Almighty’s saying: {7:84. And We rained upon them a flurry, then see what was the recompense of the criminals!}: Implementing the command by Allah {in a part of the night (15:65)} Luut took his family [and left the town in a part of the night]. Then, as commanded, Jibriil, ‘alaihis salam, to place his wing under their cities, uprooted them, and raised them to the sky so much so that those in the skies could hear the roosters crow and the dogs bark! Then he flipped them upside down, and stones of roasted clay (hardened stones) rained onto them. It is said: [Even] on those [of them] who were not present. And a stone [even] caught up with Luut’s wife while she was with him, and killed her. And it is stated they were 4 towns/villages. And it is also said five, and they had four hundred thousand [people]. The story of Luut will be described in greater detail than this in Surah Huud in sha Allah Ta’ala.


2.2 – Regarding the as-haab ar-russ (the people of the well), and regarding lesbians

وَعَاداً وَثَمُودَا وَأَصْحَابَ الرَّسِّ وَقُرُوناً بَيْنَ ذَلِكَ كَثِيراً

And ‘Aad and Thamuud and the people of the well, and between them, many peoples. [Al-Furqan (25), verse 38]

Excerpt from Imam Al-Qurtubi Says In Jami’ul Ahkam Al-Quran on the tafsiir of the verse 25:38

وقال جعفر بن محمد عن أبيه : أصحاب الرس قوم كانوا يستحسنون لنسائهم السحق ، وكان نساؤهم كلهم سحاقات. وروي من حديث أنس أن رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم قال : “إن من أشراط الساعة أن يكتفي الرجال بالرجال والنساء بالنساء وذلك السحق”

And Ja’afar bin Muhammad narrates from his father: The as-haab ar-russ, they were a people who were happy with their women being tramplers (lesbians), and all of their women were tramplers [i.e., lesbians]. And it is narrated in a hadiith by Anas, that the Prophet said, “Indeed, one of the conditions [i.e., what will surely happen] of the hour [coming close] is that men will seek [sexual] satisfaction with men and women with women and this is trampling.” (homosexuality, the Arabic word used in this context is ‘sahq’ and it refers to grinding, crushing, destroying, trampling, etc.)

Excerpt from Imam Ath-Tha’alabi’s Tafsiir under the verse

ثم أتى الله سبحانه بقرن بعد ذلك فنزلوها فكانوا صالحين سنين ثم أحدثوابعد ذلك فاحشة جعل الرجل يدعو ابنته وأخته وزوجته فينيكها جاره وصديقه وأخوه يلتمس بذلك البر والصلة ، ثم ارتفعوا من ذلك إلى نوع آخر استغنى الرجل بالرجل وتركوا النساء حتى شبقن فجاءتهن شيطانة في صورة امرأة وهي الدلهاث بنت إبليس وهي أُخت الشيطان ، كانا في بيضة واحدة فشبهت إلى النساء ركوب بعضها إلى بعض وعلّمتهن كيف يصنعن ، فأصل ركوب النساء بعضهن بعضاً من الدلهاث ، فسلّط الله سبحانه على ذلك القرن صاعقة من أول الليل وخسفاً في آخر الليل وصيحةً مع الشمس ، فلم يبق منهم باقية وبادت مساكنهم .
ويشهد بصحّة بعض هذه القصة ما أخبرني ابن فنجويه قال : حدّثنا أبو الطيب بن حفصويه قال : حدّثنا عبد الله بن جامع قال : حدّثنا عثمان بن خرزاذ قال : حدّثنا سلمان بن عبد الرَّحْمن قال : حدّثنا الحكم بن يعلى بن عطاء قال : حدّثنا معاوية بن عمار الدهنى عن جعفر بن محمد عن أبيه في قوله ) وأصحاب الرس ( قال : السحاقات .
وأخبرني ابن فنجويه قال : حدّثنا عبد الله بن يوسف بن أحمد بن مالك قال : حدّثنا الحسن بن إسماعيل الدينوري قال : حدّثنا أحمد بن يحيى بن مالك السوسي قال : حدّثنا نصر بن حماد قال : حدّثنا عمر بن عبد الرَّحْمن عن مكحول عن أنس بن مالك قال : قال رسول الله ( صلى الله عليه وسلم ) ( من أشراط الساعة أن يستكفي الرجال بالرجال والنساء بالنساء وذلك السحق )

[Long description snipped, proceeding to:] Then as a nation after that, Allah Subhanahu sent this nation and they were pious for years, then after that they committed this lewdness wherein a man would call his daughter or his sister or his wife, and his neighbor or his friend or his brother/bondsman would have sex with them and they were engrossed and continued in this custom. Then they proceeded from this to the last stage wherein men would pleasure themselves from men so much that they abandoned their women completely in their gratification [by the same sex]. A female satan came to them in the form of a [human] woman, and she was ad-dalhath, the daughter of ibliis and she is the sister of [another] shaytan with whom she shared the same egg [that is, along with whom she was born] and she displayed to the women how one could mount the other and taught them how to engage in it [that is, lesbianism]. Therefore, the origin of women mounting each other is from ad-dahlath. Therefore, Allah Subhanahu overwhelmed this nation by thunderbolts in the beginning of the night, and submerged [into the ground] in its later part coupled with horrifying sounds by sunshine; and no one remained from them and their homes were destroyed.

And a few have attested to the strength of this story, as informed to us Ibn Fanjawih, he said: Abu al-Tayyib bin Hafswiyah narrated to us, he said: ‘Abd-Allah bin Jami’ narrated to us, he said: ‘Uthman bin Kharzad narrated to us, he said: Salman bin ‘Abd Ar-Rahman narrated to us, he said: Hakam bin Ya’ala bin ‘Ataa narrated to us, he said: Mu’awiya bin ‘Ammar Ad-Dahniy narrated to us on account of Ja’afar bin Muhammad who stated on his father’s account, regarding the as-haab ar-russ [that] he said: “The Tramplers (as-sihaaqaat/as-sahhaaqaat)”

And Ibn Fanjwih informed me, he said: ‘Abd-Allah bin Yusuf bin Ahmad bin Malik narrated to us, he said: Hasan bin Isma’iil Ad-Diinuuri narrated to us, he said: Ahmad bin Yahya bin Malik As-Soosi narrated to us, he said: Nasr bin Hammad narrated to us, he said: ‘Umar bin ‘Abd Ar-Rahman narrated to us on account of Mak-hool, on account of Anas bin Malik that the Prophet said, “Indeed, one of the conditions [i.e., what will surely happen] of the hour [coming close] is that men will seek [sexual] satisfaction with men and women with women and this is trampling.” (That is, homosexuality, the Arabic word used in this context is ‘sahq’ and it refers to grinding, crushing, destroying, trampling, etc.)

والثاني أن الرس قرية من قرى اليمامة قاله قتادة

والثالث أنها المعدن قاله ابو عبيدة وابن قتيبة

وفي تسميتها بالرس قولان
أحدهما أنهم رسوا نبيهم في البئر قاله عكرمة قال الزجاج رسوه أي دسوه فيها
والثاني أن كل ركية لم تطو فهي رس قاله ابن قتيبة

واختلفوا في أصحاب الرس على خمسة أقوال
أحدها أنهم قوم كانوا يعبدون شجرة فبعث الله تعالى إليهم نبيا من ولد يهوذا بن يعقوب فحفروا له بئرا وألقوه فيها فهلكوا قاله علي عليه السلام
والثاني أنهم قوم كان لهم نبي يقال له حنظلة بن صفوان فقتلوا نبيهم فأهلكهم الله قاله سعيد بن جبير
والثالث أنهم كانوا أهل بئر ينزلون عليها وكانت لهم مواش وكانوا يعبدون الاصنام فبعث الله إليهم شعيبا فتمادوا في طفيانهم فانهارت البئر فخسف بهم وبمنازلهم قاله وهب بن منبه
والرابع أنهم الذين قتلوا حبيبا النجار قتلوه في بئر لهم وهو الذي قال يا قوم اتبعوا المرسلين يس قاله السدي
والخامس أنهم قوم قتلوا نبيهم وأكلوه وأول من عمل السحر نساؤهم قاله ابن السائب

 And regarding The Almighty’s saying “And the as-haab ar-russ (the people of russ)”, on “russ” there are three sayings:

The first one is that there is a well named “Russ”; Ibn ‘Abbas says as narrated by Al-‘Oufiy; and it is said in the narration by ‘Ikrimah that it is a well in Azerbaijan, and Ibn As-Saa-ib asserts that it is a well south of Yamamah [the region in Saudi Arabia east of Najd] and As-Suddi said that it is a well in Antakya [a city in Turkey]

The second one is that it is one of the villages/townships in the region of Yamamah, Qatadah said this.

The third is that it is a water channel, Abu ‘Ubaydah and Ibn Qutaybah said this.

In regards to it being named as “Ar-Russ” there are two sayings:

The first one is that they threw their prophet in the well, ‘Ikrimah said this, and Az-Zajjaj said that it refers to burying him in there [As for mentioning this as reason for nomenclature, it (the act of throwing/burying) is also based on a derivative/meaning of the Arabic word “russ” and hence the name.]

The second one is that any deep pit that is unworthy (i.e., does not contain water and just filled with gravel and rocks) is a “russ”, Ibn Qutaybah says this.

And there are five different sayings regarding the as-haab ar-russ (the people of russ):

The first one is that they were a people who worshipped trees and Allah Ta’ala sent to them a prophet from the children of Yehuudha bin Ya’quub, and they dug a well and threw him there and killed [him], this is said by [Caliph] ‘Ali, ‘alaihis salam.

The second one is that they were a people who had a prophet, they called him “Hanzdhalah bin Safwan” and they killed their prophet and Allah destroyed them, this is said by Sa’iid bin Jubayr.

The third one is that they were the people of the well, who were sent to it [that is, in its environs] and they had cattle, and they used to worship idols and Allah sent to them Shu’ayb [‘alaihis salam] and they exceeded in their disobedience and the well flooded and swallowed them and their dwellings, Wahb bin Munabbih says this.

The fourth is that they murdered Habiib An-Najjar, they murdered him in their well, and he is the one who said, “O nation, follow the prophets” (Surah Yasiin36:20), As-Suddi said this.

And the fifth one is that they were a people who murdered their prophet and ate him and the first ones to practice sorcery/magic was their women, Ibn As-Saa-ib says this.


2.3 – Some ahaadiith on the topic of gays, lesbians, and sodomy, categorically stating that sodomy is forbidden even with wives, the sin incurred in practicing it with men only being much worse:

 عن أبي هريرة عن النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم قال لا ينظر الله عز وجل إلى رجل جامع امرأته في دبرها

 أبي داود

Abu Hurayrah narrates that the Prophet said: “Allah ‘Azza wa Jall does not look [that is, look with mercy] at a man who has intercourse in his wife’s anus.” [Abu Dawuud]

عن أبي هريرة قال قال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم ملعون من أتى امرأته في دبرها
وقال أيضاً : هي اللوطية الصغرى يعني الرجل يأتي امرأته في دبرها

مسند أحمد, سنن أبي داود, السنن الكبرى للنسائي

 Abu Hurayrah narrates that the Prophet said: “Mal’oon (cursed) is the one who has sex with his wife in the anus.”

And he also said: “And this is the lesser sodomy” – that is a man having anal sex with his wife (the major sodomy being a man having sex with another man).

[Musnad Ahmad, Abu Dawuud, An-Nasaaiy, and others]

 ملعون من عمل بعمل قوم ‏ ‏لوط

مسند أحمد

Mal’oon is the one who does the deed of the people of Luut. [Musnad Ahmad]

عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ ، قَالَ : أَنَّ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : ” لَعَنَ اللَّهُ مَنْ عَمِلَ عَمَلَ قَوْمِ لُوطٍ ، لَعَنَ اللَّهُ مَنْ عَمِلَ عَمَلَ قَوْمِ لُوطٍ ، لَعَنَ اللَّهُ مَنْ عَمِلَ عَمَلَ قَوْمِ لُوطٍ

 السنن الكبرى للنسائي

In is narrated from Ibn ‘Abbas, he said: The Prophet said: “Allah curse the one who does the deed of the people of Luut. Allah curse the one who does the deed of the people of Luut. Allah curse the one who does the deed of the people of Luut.” [An-Nasaaiy]

عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيرَةَ قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : ” لا يَنْظُرُ اللَّهُ إِلَى رَجُلٍ أَتَى امْرَأَةً فِي دُبُرِهَا “

ابن حبان

It is reported from Abu Hurayrah, he said: The Prophet said: “Allah ‘Azza wa Jall does not look [that is, look with mercy] at a man who has intercourse in his wife’s anus.” [Ibn Hibban, (the English looks the same but the Arabic wording is slightly different that the first hadith from Abu Dawuud)]

مَنْ أَتَى حَائِضًا أَوْ امْرَأَةً فِي دُبُرِهَا أَوْ كَاهِنًا فَقَدْ كَفَرَ بِمَا أُنْزِلَ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ

الترمذي, أبو داود

“He who has intercourse with a menstruating woman [i.e., wife] or has anal intercourse or visits a soothsayer, he has disbelieved (faqad kafara) in what has been revealed upon Muhammad []” [Tirmidhi, Abu Dawuud]

I think these few ahaadiith shall be enough to give a sensible reader an idea of the severity of sodomy, homosexuality and lesbianism, so much so that our beloved Prophet of Mercy has CURSED such people.


3. How should Muslims deal with gays and lesbians…

… considering the times we live in and considering how stupidity is the order of the day when people promote this illogical and unnatural filth only to stay fashionable and for the purpose of political mileage.

In sha Allah, the following simple Q&A format shall be helpful. Please not that the below is not to be construed as a fatwa but rather guidelines.

Q1. How should I interact with kafirs who are gays/lesbians?

A1. Gay or not, a Muslim should not befriend kafirs. Our interaction with any kafir must be minimal and only on an as needed basis. If a kafir is genuinely curious about Islam with an unbiased mind, we should teach him about Islam nicely and without compromising on the truth of Islam. In any case, in our material lives, we should only be professional and not have any affinities to kafirs. Being gay or straight is irrelevant to these people without Islam. ALL of a kafirs deeds are useless and blameworthy unless he accepts Islam. Even a straight kafir is worse than a gay Muslim.

Q2. My Muslim friend/brother/sister is gay/lesbian. He acknowledges it to be haram and regrets his act and wants to stop it. What should I do?

A2. This person deserves to be treated with hikmah and deserves to be helped and rehabilitated from this filthy disease that is homosexuality. One must advise and warn such a person of Allah’s punishment, the Prophet’s disdain for such people, the stories of the nations past, etc. and get in touch with a trusted shaykh/elder with wisdom, take them into confidence not to get furious/aggressive so as to push him away from repentance, and ask the shaykh/elder to help rehabilitate this brother/sister. One must goad them as much as possible from time to time and give as many ‘doses’ of Islamic knowledge and admonition as required, at various intervals of  time, and do their level best to rehabilitate such a person. If he/she reforms, Alhamdulillah. If the person appears to be only pretending to be remorseful and is not serious and no change is observed in his situation, one should leave him alone. (Gays and lesbians are extremely crafty and champions at pretending.)

Remember, homosexuality, is a disease of the heart and a mental illness that can be cured by the right spiritual coaching. It is NOT a “natural” temperament as the fag lobby would like us to believe.

Q3. My Muslim friend/brother/sister is gay/lesbian. He acknowledges it to be haram but is engrossed in it and does not seek to reform. What should I do?

A3. Teach him the commands of Allah if you can directly, otherwise just forward him Islamic literature on the topic, and leave him alone. Be stern with him. Do NOT be friendly with him. Show him your extreme anger and displeasure at his actions for as long as he is in this state.

Q4. My friend/brother/sister is born in a Muslim family and he believes it to be a good thing/acceptable in Islam. What should I do?

A4. This person is a filthy apostate. A Muslim is allowed to deal with original kafirs (people born in a kafir home) professionally on an as needed basis (like work, trading etc.) but apostates are lower than original kafirs. They are at a much worse war against Allah and His Messenger. They deserve nothing BUT the scorn and antipathy of Muslims. A Muslim MUST shut off all personal and professional associations with an apostate immediately, lest he is not worried about Allah’s wrath. In Islam, there is no loyalty to relations and friends before loyalty to Islam. A Muslim’s close affinities are ONLY meant for Muslims. He is allowed to deal professionally on an as needed basis with original kafirs, and his original kafir relatives. But with apostates, he MUST shut off all dealings with him, even if he is one’s son or daughter or father or mother. An apostate relative does not even inherit from a Muslim at his death. Cut off ALL personal relations with such an apostate and think of him as Allah’s and the Prophet’s enemy. As far as work/professional life is concerned, once again, as much as possible without getting into any legal trouble, aim for ZERO dealings/relationships with such apostates. Leave him alone. Ignore him. Treat him like the human scum he is. Pretend he doesn’t exist.

Q5. A person I know says “gay marriage” should be allowed in Islam or is allowed in Islam. What should I do?

A5. Leave him alone. Ignore him. Treat him like the human scum he is. Pretend he doesn’t exist. See A4 above. If any of your original kafir (those born in kafir homes) acquaintances/colleagues at work mention such people and their “opinions” and ask you the truth of the matter, then tell them the truth without any diplomacy or sugar-coating anything, that Islam forbids homosexuality and that such a person who believes it to be permissible is a LOWER kafir than them, he is an apostate and a severe enemy of Islam, Allah, and our Master Rasulullah ﷺ; thusly INSULT the person who claims to be Muslim and preaches such filth. And do not be shy to call such a scumbag a kafir apostate and an enemy of Allah, His Messenger, Islam and Muslims to his face! Treat him with your utmost contempt. Maintain the pride and dignity of Islam against such a scum. Do NOT resort to political correctness or diplomacy in front of such a person and ALWAYS stand your ground and NEVER soften up on the fact that such people are pure kafirs.  Poke fun and insult at these faggots at any chance you get. There is a great thawab in insulting the enemies of Islam.

May Allah protect us from the fitnah of this vile act and the dumber than animal, vile, human scum who consider this filthy, unnatural act to be permissible/good for society, and think that such idiots who choose not to engage in the natural procreation process, have the “right” to adopt children. That’s like saying, “we refuse to work, but we have the “right” to a paycheck”! May Allah curse the faces of gays and lesbians and the faces of all those who support them.

Indeed, our master Rasulullah ﷺ is right, and such blatant idiocy and abject stupidity and flipping the good as bad and the bad as good is a sure sign of the hour getting closer.

We thank Allah for the ni’mah of Islam and the ni’mah of ‘aql.

      The narration in the article comes from Imam Fakhruddin Ar-Razi’s tafseer under the verses relating to the topic. The hadith exists in Tirmidhi, Ibn Majah, and Musnad Ahmad, as far as I know and is of hasan category according to Imam Ahmad.
