Another Muslim response – MAKE SURE your mosques and homes echo with the du’as of your master ‘Umar ibn Al-Khattaab!
The Prophet ﷺ said:
Translation of meaning: Follow those after me: Abu Bakr and ‘Umar.
(Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah; Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal; & other collections)
and he ﷺ said:
Translation of meaning: The sun hasn’t risen on a person better than ‘Umar.
(Jaami’ At-Tirmidhi, & other collections)
and ﷺ he said:
Translation of meaning: If there were to be a prophet after me, it would have been ‘Umar ibn Al-Khattab.
(Jaami’ At-Tirmidhi, Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal; & other collections)
and ﷺ he said:
Translation of meaning: It is obligatory on you to follow my Sunnah; and the Sunnah of the rightly guided caliphs.
(Sunan Ibn Majah, Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal, Sunan Darimi; & other collections)
Reason then dictates that we follow the example of our master ‘Umar ibn Al-Khattab, radzi Allahu ‘anhu. We should therefore, emulate him in his supplications to Allah, ourselves, as well make it an obligation upon ourselves to teach them to our children.
Our mosques and homes should always echo with the Qunoot dua as supplicated by our master ‘Umar, radzi Allahu ‘anhu.
From: Musannaf ‘Abd Ar-Razzaaq
Translation of meaning: It is narrated from Abi Rafe’, he said: “I prayed the morning [Fajr] prayer behind ‘Umar ibn Al-Khattab, and he prayed Qunoot after the rukoo’. I heard him [‘Umar] say: “O Allah, we beseech You for help, and we seek Your forgiveness, and we laud Your praise; and we do not commit kufr against You; and we believe in You; and we dissociate from and abandon anyone who disobeys You. O Allah, You Alone we worship, and to You we pray and prostrate, and towards You [i.e, Your cause] do we struggle and sprint forth; and we beseech Your Mercy, and we fear Your punishment, indeed Your punishment will reach the kafirs. O Allah! Punish the kafirs, and strike their hearts with horror, and cause opposition between their words, and let Your punishment and torment descend unto them. O Allah, torment the ahl al-kitab (people of the book, the christians and jews) – the infidel people who debar from Your [commanded] path and deny Your Messengers, and murder Your friends [i.e., Muslims]. O Allah, forgive the believing [in Islam] men and women, and the surrendering [in Islam] men and women, and rectify their affairs, and induce compassion between their [i.e., Muslims’] hearts, and bring forth in their hearts iimaan (faith/belief) and hikmah (wisdom); and keep them steadfast upon the NATION OF YOUR PROPHET [ﷺ], and make them loyal upon the covenant that You took from them; and help them against Your enemies and their enemies; [O] True God, make us from them.
Translation of meaning: It is narrated from Ibn Jurayj, he said: ‘Ataa informed me that he heard ‘Ubayd bin ‘Umayr, that he happened to hear ‘Umar ibn Al-Khattab in the state of Qunoot, and narrates that he [‘Umar] said thusly: O Allah! Forgive the believing [in Islam] men and women, and the surrendering [in Islam] men and women; and induce compassion between their [i.e., Muslims’] hearts; and rectify their affairs, and help them against Your enemy and their enemy. O Allah curse the kafirs – the ahl al-kitab (i.e., the people of the book, christians and jews; among other kafirs) – the people who deny Your Messengers, and murder Your friends [i.e., Muslims]; O Allah! Cause opposition between their words, and cause earthquakes beneath their feet, and send down on them Your torment that is absolutely unyielding to the nation of criminals [i.e., kafirs]. In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful – O Allah, we beseech You for help, and we seek Your forgiveness, and we laud Your praise; and we do not commit kufr against You; and we dissociate from and abandon anyone who disobeys You. In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful – O Allah! You Alone do we worship, and to You do we pray and prostrate, and towards You [i.e., Your cause] do we strive and sprint forth; We call upon Your Mercy and we fear Your punishment, indeed Your punishment shall meet with the kuffaar.
Remember dear Muslim, dua is the weapon of a believer, specially in times of distress like this. Also note, that chanting this dua of our master ‘Umar, whom the ummah remembers as Faaruuq Al-A’azdham, the Great Differentiator* who made clear and greatly stretched the divide between the purity of Islam and the filth of kufr, between good and evil, between Muslims and kafirs, and between the fragrant beauty of the believers and the rotting stench and ugliness of the hypocrites and fake converts.
Chant this dua of your master ‘Umar and I assure you dear Muslim, the hypocrites and fake converts will burn in their agony, and you will at once see them manifest their love for kufr and the kuffaar and their dormant annoyance at Allah’s religion.
Our master ‘Umar, The Great Differentiator, by Allah’s Mercy, to THIS DAY DOESN’T FAIL – in driving a wedge between – REAL CONVERTS to Islam and the COUNTERFEITS, between TRUE Muslims and pretenders, between [spiritually] beautiful people and ugly people; between the truthful ones and liars, between Muslims and kafirs, between good and evil. May Allah shower him, and all of our Master RasulAllah’s ﷺ companions with infinite Mercy.
ٌٌ* PLEASE NOTE: That our master ‘Umar ibn Al-Khattaab, is lauded as THE GREAT DIFFERENTIATOR, by the ummah for his incessant struggling in the cause of Allah and ALWAYS SEEKING, EXPOSING & MAKING MANIFEST – THE DIVISION between good and bad, between Islam and kufr, between Sunnah and bid’ah, between Muslims and kafirs, between truth and falsehood, between true faith and hypocrisy. He always made clear and manifest, the distinction between good and evil.
Compare and contrast that to many of the people of our times who claim to be Muslims, Muslim leaders, Muslim scholars, ‘representatives’ of the Muslim community, etc – who are always tripping over themselves in order to ‘build bridges’, ‘join hands’, ‘seek closeness’, ‘seek a common ground’ and ‘celebrate what unites us’ etc. with the heads of kufr like christian popes, hindu priests, buddhist monks, jewish rabbis, atheists etc. and also their congregations.
Such people are not Muslims by any stretch. Such people are really just swine-eating kafirs pretending to be Muslims, no matter their claims to Islam, no matter how sparkling white their robes are, no matter how much halal food they eat, no matter how well donned their hijabs are, no matter how supposedly intellectual and eloquent their conversations are, and so on!
A Muslim is someone who follows the example of his master FAARUUQ AL-A’AZDHAM, THE GREAT DIFFERENTIATOR, radzi Allahu ‘anhu, the 2nd caliph of our Master RasulAllah ﷺ.
W-Allahu waliyyut tawfiiq.
