Stay aloof from Allah’s enemies during their festivities – ‘Umar ibn Al-Khattab

13 Mar

From the Sunan Al-Kubra of Imam Bayhaqi:

قال [عمر بن الخطاب – رضي الله عنه] : اجتنبوا أعداء الله في عيدهم

(السنن الكبرى – أبو بكر أحمد بن الحسين بن علي البيهقي)

‘Umar ibn Al-Khattab – may Allah reward him – said: Stay aloof from Allah’s enemies* during their festivities.

* All kafirs are Allah’s enemies. Allah says in the Quran:

 فَإِنَّ اللّهَ عَدُوٌّ لِّلْكَافِرِينَ

Translation of meaning: … Verily, Allah is the Enemy of kafirs. [Holy Quran 2:98]

Note that Allah’s bearing enmity towards someone means that Allah has cursed them and placed them away from His Mercy, and willed a bad destiny for them; as stated by Al-Bayhaqi himself in Al-Asmaa wa-s-Sifaat.

… and these days hypocrites pretending to be ‘scholars of Islam’ are themselves asking people to celebrate christmas, easter etc. and wish the kuffaar on their festivals. May Allah damn them for leading people astray.

The choice is yours – take a fatwa from Ameer-ul-Mumineen ‘Umar ibn Al-Khattab, radzi Allahu ‘anhu, or take a fatwa from devils donning the cloaks and turbans of scholarship!

And there is no success except as granted by Allah.
